Missing My Best Friend

My very best friend you are, Terri Jean Bradley.

How wonderful it was to talk to you almost every day.

To hear your voice say funny things

And even hear you sing.

I will remember your words of encouragement

They will remain in my mind forever.

And one thing in particular

Is that you were more than a friend of mine

I am forever grateful to you who so brave and kind

Always showing lots of love to me and the other friends

You have left behind.

Now that your spirit has been set free

Protected by God’s angels

That is where I know you will be.

I pray that you have been able to see

That we all love you and miss you Terri

Very, very deeply.

I will love you always my dear and best friend

I have been proud to call you my sister to the very end.

According to his niece, Juanita, He had not been feeling well for a month or two and had gone to the doctor with a kidney infection.  They were in the process of trying to find out why he had such an infection.  He had gone to the doctor several times and got better but still did not feel well.

His daughter and her husband came and mowed his lawn while he was sick.  He kept protesting that they had to do that for him.  Monday, he told Mary that he was going to go out and mow the lawn.  She tried to get him not to do it but he went ahead and mowed the front.  Then he went to the back and started to do it.  Mary looked out the window and he was sitting on the ground and then saw him lay down.  She ran out there and told him she was calling an ambulance.  He said, "No, open the back door for me."  He crawled in the back door and onto the living room floor.  She called the ambulance anyway because he didn't look good.

The ambulance and fire truck arrived in five minutes or less and they worked with him.  His pulse was beating but his heart had stopped.  They took him to the hospital and the doctor and nurses worked frantically with him but he was gone.

They decided to bury him in the Blanchard Cemetery which is about ten miles from their daughter, Lahoma.  Mary wouldn't be able to visit his grave at Condon Grove and they wanted him close.

Lola Marie Yandell Rowland

January 26, 1947 - November 30, 2007

Lola M. Rowland, age 60, was the wife of Ferman Rowland.  They were married for 43 years.  Ferman was the son of Nicholas Warren & Edna Rowland.  Nicholas was the son of Nicholas Jeremiah Rowland.

About six years ago, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, resulting in her left breast being removed.  The doctors told her that they had gotten the cancer but they did not.  It came back and she began chemo and radiation in 2005.  It seemed that the treatments were going to work, but there were anywhere from 3-5 tumors and the treatments could not stop their growth.

On the 18th of November, they had to take her to the E.R. to get her blood sugar regulated.  She got to come back home.  Thanksgiving morning, they had to take her to the Ardmore hospital because she had gotten sick.  They had been giving her morphine for pain and didn't realize it was building up in her system because her kidneys were shutting down.  They gave her a shot to counteract that and she came to a little bit.  They got her kidneys opened back up again but they shut back down again that night.  The morphine wore off and she was in so much pain that she had to be given something and, of course, that knocked her out again.  The hospital offered to do dialysis and to place her on life support, but she had said she didn't want anything like that, so they chose not to go that route.  Her final wish was to pass away at home in her bed.  The hospital finally released her so that she could be taken home.  They had to release her into hospice care and she was brought by ambulance to their house.  On the way, her blood pressure dropped so the ambulance sped up to get her here so they could stabilize her.  She passed away the next morning at 6 AM.

She is buried in the family plot located on their property in Oklahoma.
